The new Def Jam game, "Icons", will feature many different rappers of today, one of which being The Game. "Icons" will be out soon on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. It will probably be out on the PSP eventually as well.

Multiplatinum rapper The Game is game for a trial on officer-impersonation charges - and wants to argue that he's too cozy with city "hip-hop cops" to commit such an in-your-face crime as they tailed him.

Prosecutors say The Game - real name Jayceon Terell Taylor - got into a cab at West 56th Street at Seventh Avenue in November, flashed a fake badge and claimed to be an undercover officer. He told the terrified driver to blow red lights for 13 blocks before getting pulled over, prosecutors say.

But The Game wouldn't do that, said his lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman.

"He knew they were following him, because they'd been on his butt all night," he said, referring to the rapper-monitoring cops.

"He sees them all the time, and he's very polite to them. He and his guys give them cigars all the time. When they're in the same restaurant together, they send over food."

MTV2 will air a new season of Celebrity Deathmatch in February.

The series --- which highlights battles between clay versions of musicians, actors, sports figures and movie stars --- will offer a new line up of fights for viewers.

Hip-Hop skirmishes include 50 Cent vs. The Game, Paul Wall vs. Mike Jones, Bow Wow vs. Lil Romeo and Lil Flip vs. Lil Wayne, as well as bouts featuring Owen Wilson vs. Evince Vaughn, Mischa Barton vs. Kristin Cavallari, Tobey Maguire vs. Jake Gyllenhaal, Hilary Duff vs. Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson vs. Nick Lachey.

The new season of Celebrity Deathmatch kicks off at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 9.

Game can thank Common for his new single, "Wouldn't Get Far." Com had nothing to do with the production, but after he turned down the Kanye West-produced track, 'Ye slid it to his West Coast partna.

"Game had texted me like, 'Yo, what's up? I'm finishing the album,' " West recalled Tuesday on the Los Angeles set of a video for the single. "And you know how [producers usually] send, like, 12 beats? I sent the one beat and said, 'I got this one for you. This is it, right here.' If he had passed on it, I would've used it myself, but I'm happy that Game went ahead and did it."

Rapper The Game has challenged British soccer ace David Beckham to a one-on-one match - because the hip hop star fancies himself as a "pretty good" soccer player too. The Game - real name Jayceon Taylor - regularly proclaims he is the best rapper in the world, but now thinks he could easily beat the Real Madrid star at his own game. He boasts, "I'd kick David Beckham's ass on any given day. I'd just pick the ball up and kick the s**t out of the stadium, game over."
