The Game and E-40 Take Part in And 1 Mixtape Tour

After the release of his debut album, The Documentary, we found out that The Game has serious skills on the mic. Now, we know he has skills on the basketball court, too.

The Compton native had 16 points (including two big dunks), six assists and three steals for the Los Angeles team, who played against the And 1 streetballers on Sunday (June 4). However, the Game’s effort wasn’t enough, as the And 1 team routed his LA team 102 – 82 in their season opener.

Still, the And 1 players respected Game’s on-court prowess.

The Game Negotiating with Interscope for BWS

The label status of Compton rapper the Game has been the subject of speculation after the chart-topping rapper broke from 50 Cent's G-Unit camp to remain a solo artist on Dr. Dre's Aftermath/Interscope imprint.

While representatives for both the Game and Interscope refused to comment, sources told AllHipHop.com that Game is in the process of re-negotiating a deal for his own Black Wall Street Record label through Interscope.

Although Game is allegedly forming his own imprint, at press time, he is expected to continue his work with mentor Dr. Dre, the legendary producer who founded Aftermath after leaving Death Row over business disputes and creative differences with Marion "Suge" Knight.

Game Album Delayed

The Game’s sophomore effort, The Doctor’s Advocate, has been pushed back to late summer, according to a press release. Originally scheduled for a June 6 release, the album’s delay is a result of several new ventures for the rapper, including his upcoming film debut in Waist Deep, and new color lines of his Hurricane sneaker collection. “I’ve been spending long hours in the studio to make sure it’s a classic,” Game said about the album. Though the album's release date has been delayed repeatedly, the rapper is confident that it'll be well worth the wait. "When album drops, it's gonna set the tone for the rest of my career," he told BET.com. "I'm selling a million the first week," he says of the album that features production by the likes of Scott Storch, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Timbaland and Just Blaze.

Waist Deep, which co-stars Meagan Goode, Larenz Tate and Tyrese, opens in theaters on June 23. The rapper also told BET.com that he has two more flicks in the works. "The movie business is where it's at. More money, less drama."

The Game Dropping 'Hurricane' Sneaker

Hip-Hop artist The Game is flexing his entrepreneurial spirits and intends to release a line of sneakers dubbed The Hurricanes. The name comes from a moniker he often used, "Hurricane Game.”

While Game declined to disclose who the sneakers would be distributed by for business reasons, he did state that the line would include canvas and leather sneakers. "They are dropping around Christmas," Game revealed to AllHipHop.com. "I'm comin' with some new designs."

The Game said he’ll strive for originally with the Hurricane sneaker.
“N***s won't be like, ‘Aw, them is fake Air Force One's.’ I like my s**t to be legit, and I ain't gonna make it unless I know I f**k with it. Like, if a n***a put out some knock-off sneakers, I'm gonna be like, ‘Nah, them knock-off Air One's.’ And you’re [going to be like] I'm gonna [buy] my motherf***in' Nikes!

The sneakers are a part of Game's broader plan to enter into the urban clothing business in the same manner as fellow Aftermath artists Eminem, who has Shady Clothing and 50 Cent, who has the G-Unit collection.
"I'm deciding on a name right now," Game said, comparing the new line to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' popular Sean John clothing line.

Competitive by nature, Game said he expects his sneaker line to compete with some of the more established brands, as well as more recently launched lines.
"I aint taking nothing away from [anyone else], but the Hurricanes is about to lock it up. Watch."

Jimmy Rosemond Speaks On Game and More

Being that Czar Entertainment is home to the Game, one would have thought complications could arise when the company’s CEO, Jimmy Rosemond, had to settle a lawsuit over the Original Fifty Cent DVD with Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson.

However, both Rosemond and 50 made sure that didn’t happen.

“Every time we got on the phone we had to set our differences aside because when it came down to Game, it wasn’t about the lawsuit and when it came down to the lawsuit, it wasn’t about Game, so we had to put those things aside and deal with the issues at hand," Rosemond told Vibe.com. “That’s the making of true businessmen on his side and on my side, where we can have good dialect that isn’t screaming or yelling. That’s what it is about.”
